After evaluating performance and customer requests for several years, we decided to create a mix
that has increased dimensional stability and also better meets the needs of subirrigation systems.
In doing so, we’ve replaced our former PrimeMedia lines with Blend 532 to meet your most demanding
requirements. |
 |
| Components |
| Coir(Ground coconut husks) |
| Benefits: |
- Unique water holding capacity
- Good drainage/aeration
- Less compaction than peat moss
- Retains physical properties
- Easier wetability than peat
|
- Ability to retain nutrients against
leaching and buffers ongoing release
- Natural and renewable resource
- Uniform in composition
|
| Coir readily absorbs water, re-wets far more easily than sedge peat - even when completely dry, thus
reducing costs of wetting agents. Coir reduces watering frequency without plant stress, thus reducing
labor cost and minimizing loss acheiving better water conservation. Professional grower experience indicates
that Coir is less favorable to fungus gnat populations. Coir supports your cultural efforts & helps
minimize replacements. |

| Rice Hulls |
| Composted rice hulls have been used successfully in container media for at least 15 years. Rice hulls
resist decomposition & compaction because of the naturally high silicon content in the hulls. |
|
| |
| Haydite |
| Benefits: |
- Reduce compaction of soil
- Increase soil porosity
- Increase air space for healthier root development
- Reduce labor cost through more efficient watering
|
- Increases mix stability
- Derived from natural shale deposits
|
| Haydite's porous micro-surface texture and interior porous structure resist clogging and provides superior
aeration that promotes growth of delicate, fine roots system. Problems of soil compaction are significantly
reduced. The soil remains resilient because moisture and air movement are not restricted. Haydite
absorbs water and nutrients allowing for less run off. Water and nutrients are held by each particle and
are slowly released back into the soil and root zone, as needed, promoting healthier root growth. |
